MaxMD is committed to meeting industry standards regarding the privacy, security and exchange of healthcare data. In 2013, we became one of the first companies in the nation to be EHNAC accredited as a HISP, RA, and CA.
As a Registration Authority (RA), MaxMD reliably authenticates the identities of individuals and organizations to determine if the Certificate Authority (CA) should issue a digital certificate. Given our multiple accreditations, MaxMD’s implementation process for Direct secure messaging is greatly simplified.
To meet the standards of the Direct Protocol and build the trust-in-identity of Direct exchange, each user must be credentialed to NIST Level of Assurance 3: High Confidence. We know that healthcare entities have extremely strong credentialing processes, and these efforts do not need to be duplicated. As an EHNAC accredited RA, MaxMD can credential one individual within an organization as a trusted agent, and leverage antecedent proofing with documents that can be kept on file. This allows for faster and more scalable implementations.
